MOLECULES ORIENTED ON BIOMEDICAL AND NANOTECHNOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS.
Proteins with repeats have a wide range of shapes and can
form regular oligomers, polymers, 2D or 3D networks. Such versatility of these
molecules opens the way for applications ranging
from materials science, nanotechnology to medicine.
We are applying our knowledge of the sequence-structure-function relationships of proteins with repeats for engineering of artificial molecules with desirable features. Examples of our successful designs are “Peptabody”, a high avidity binding protein, and uniform soluble alpha-helical nanofibrils.
